To the Past Masters, Wardens, Officers and Brothers of Shelton D. Redden No. 139:
To whom much is given much is expected. Good day brothers and friends. I appreciate the opportunity to be Master of Shelton D. Redden Lodge No. 139 and look forward to the upcoming year. We, as a whole, have made tremendous strides in the last 5 years to position ourselves to be a secure lodge which has regular events, gives back to our community, and meets the requirements of our Grand Lodge. These efforts will continue this year as I believe that they are the pillars of our organization.
As men all we have is our word and if we violate that bond we are worthless. I ask that all of us gathered here today try to do only this one thing, KEEP OUR WORD. The ability to trust every one of our members to not only volunteer to make a change in his life, but to make a difference in this lodge will allow us to grow beyond the number of men whom are listed on our rolls. Strength is not in numbers, but in the character of those who stand with you.
I appreciate the opportunity to lead this lodge up to and into the next Masonic year and look forward to working with the membership to maintain the bond of brotherly love which has been established through our thorough Class of Instruction laid down by those who have gone this way before us. May God bless you and all of your families and I thank you for your support. My Word Is My Bond and My Bond Is My Life.
Fraternally,
Jonathan Gentry
